Nottingham Newsletter November 2023

The following was sent to the Nottingham Newsletter Committee but failed to make it into the paper.

Congratulations to Hal Rafter on winning the Special Election for NH State Representative in Rockingham County District 1. Thank you to Jim Gusofski for his strong efforts in opposing him.

As Conservatives, we strongly oppose Hal’s positions on many important issues. However the voters of the District have made their choice and now we move on and begin planning for Town
Elections in March.

We are entering an important time frame, over the next few months, for the voters of Nottingham to have an opportunity to decide the future direction of the town. Budget season is
upon us. The Budget Committee is currently working on the dauntless task of presenting a reasonable budget for voter consideration and to fund Town and School daily operational needs.

Nottingham needs strong conservative voices in its town government. If you have an interest in participating in determining the direction and growth of the town please consider getting elected
to various boards and committees. There will be open positions that will need to be filled in 2024. The Board of Selectmen will have 2 positions up for grabs. The School Board, Budget
Committee, Planning and Zoning boards and others will all need people in the coming year.

Nottingham is not shielded from controversy. Hard decisions will have to be made to keep property taxes from exploding. Planned subdivisions throughout the town will severely strain town departments and infrastructure. Currently, 75+ new homes are in various stages of development here in town. How will that impact school enrollment, emergency services and
town administration? Should we consider a moratorium on further development until we have a better plan? All important questions to ask ourselves. The Town already has problems with a
lack of personnel at the Highway Department, ongoing controversy at the Fire Department and sure to be numerous costly Warrant Articles for March voting. School and Town budgets are
growing exponentially. Are you that strong conservative voice we need?

As a committee, Nottingham Republicans are always seeking new members and will support Conservatives Candidates pursuing political office. The committee meets the second Thursday
of the Month at New Hope Church, 34 Raymond Rd. Meetings start at 7 pm. Join us on Facebook at Nottingham, NH Republicans or visit our website.
